The Stories We Tell
Wednesdays, October 16 through November 20
6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Chapel and Live Streamed
Since the origin of humankind, we have used stories as a way to entertain, inform, inspire, and provide cultural continuity. Join us as we explore how stories have shaped who we are and our lives of faith, providing shared opportunities to connect, heal, and learn from one another. Discover the power of storytelling to bring meaning to chaos and stir the imagination toward hope.
November 13 - An evening with Paul Zach from The Porter's Gate
Artist-in-Residence, Paul Zach is a musician and songwriter composing songs for contemporary worship. As part of our storytelling series, he’ll share songs and tell stories from his newest album Field Recordings which he describes as “I’ve been wandering the fields with my field recorder and singing with the birds, bugs, bees, trees, and anyone else interested in making music with me.”
November 20 - The Dash
Linda Ellis' poem "The Dash" says "what mattered most of all was the dash between the years." Come hear "the dash" stories about the way people have lived their lives. Storytellers include Robby Russell, Amanda Abrahm, Ellie Morgan, Tilden Arnold, and Jon Watson. This promises to be an evening of good music, shared experience, laughter, and inspiring stories.
